ETNA GREEN — Around 1:45 p.m. today, March 12, emergency responders were dispatched to a working barn fire at 6721 West CR 650N, Etna Green.

Atwood Fire Department worked the scene with a full assist from Plain Township Fire Department and a tanker and manpower assist from Etna Green Fire Department. Also assisting at the scene were officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from Lutheran EMS.

The fire damaged a one-story chicken house-style barn, which appeared to have an adjoining smokehouse. The smokehouse had smoke billowing from its chimney and smoke also appeared from the roof of the barn, about 30 to 40 feet from the smokehouse.

The fire was listed as under control at 1:57 p.m.
