Whitko FFA Holds Annual Work Experience Auction
WHITLEY COUNTY — The Whitko FFA held its annual work experience auction Friday, March 8.
Through this event, 25 students donated eight hours of their time to be sold to the highest bidder. The organization also provided a meal for the 57 community members that attended the event as well as members participating in the auction.
Mike Biddle donated his time to complete the sale of the students’ donated time. Silent auction baskets were also offered throughout the event. The Whitko FFA was able to raise $5,925 for the FFA Chapter fund.
Money raised from the work experience auction is used to pay registration fees for contests, such as soils judging, livestock skill-a-thon, chapter meeting, livestock judging as well as many other leadership events. It is also used to play part of the registration fees for leadership camps that take place at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center in Trafalgar and both state and national FFA conventions.
The Whitko FFA chapter would like to thank everyone who donated to the event and would also like to invite the public to attend the annual Whitko FFA achievement banquet at 6 p.m. May 10 in the Whitko Jr./Sr. High commons area.
