Mentone Man Arrested After Alleged Domestic Disturbance With Minors Present
MENTONE — A Mentone man is facing charges after police responded to a domestic disturbance last month.
Killian Chase Hilliard, 22, 506 W. Main St., Mentone, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 14, an officer with the Mentone Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance.
The officer spoke with a female at the scene, who stated that she and Hilliard were sitting in her car having a disagreement when he broke the windshield and gearshift.
The female said Hilliard also head-butted her. The officer observed and took pictures of the damaged windshield and gearshift.
The officer then spoke with Hilliard, who stated he and the female were arguing when she got in his face and pushed him with her head. Hilliard also reportedly told police that the female hit him on the head with her hand, causing him to blackout.
Two minors were allegedly present during the altercation.
The officer observed no physical signs of injury to Hilliard or the female. A protective order was issued on Oct. 26, 2018, in regards to Hilliard having no contact with the female.
