Grant Funding Supports 4-H Landscape Challenge
KOSCIUSKO — The Arrow Head Country RC&D met in Winamac to award over $36,000 in grants to 12 groups from eight counties in the RC&D area. Arrow Head is pleased to award $3,000 to Kosciusko County 4-H Council for their Landscape Challenge project.
Currently, the 4-H Junior Leaders maintain a memorial garden at the Kosciusko County Community Fairgrounds in honor of members who have passed away. Another area of the fairgrounds that is in need of landscape improvements and could be space for us to expand the memorials has been identified. A team of youth interested in landscape careers worked with professionals in an educational workshop series to prepare a design for this space
The 4-H Landscape Challenge secured grant funding from Arrow Head Country RC&D to kick-off this project, but are seeking support from the community and 4-H friends to complete all phases of this design. If you are interested in memorializing your loved-one or promoting your business by sponsoring part of the Landscape Challenge, please contact Mindy Wise, 4-H Educator at (574) 372-2340 or [email protected]. During the 2018-2019 funding cycle, donations will be matched 2:1 by the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District board, up to $2,500.
