WPD Seeking Information Regarding Recent Death
WARSAW — The Warsaw Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in obtaining information in a death investigation. At 2:21 a.m. April 7, the Warsaw Police Department responded to the 700 block of North Lake Street in reference to an EMS assist for an unresponsive person, later identified as Matthew C. Hoshal, 27, 222 E. High St., Etna Green.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located Hoshal just off the southwest side of Lake Street. He was found to be unconscious with what appeared to be agonal respiration. Officers at the scene noted Hoshal had sustained bodily injury. He was transported by Lutheran EMS to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by Lutheran Hospital medical staff.
Hoshal is described as a white male, 6’ tall and weighing approximately 180 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray Nike T-shirt with the words “Just Do It” on the front.
The Warsaw Police Department is asking anyone with any information pertaining to this investigation and/or the known whereabouts of Hoshal during the time period of Saturday, April 6, through Sunday, April 7, to contact the Warsaw Police Department Detective Division at (574) 385-2211.
This is an ongoing investigation and no other information will be released at this time.
