Winona Lake Easter Egg hunt Canceled, Kosciusko County Easter Egg Hunt Moved Inside
KOSCIUSKO — The town of Winona Lake has announced that the Easter egg hunt originally planned for Saturday, April 20, is canceled.
An announcement from the Winona Lake Parks Department announced the cancelation. “First and foremost in our minds is the safety of the children participating in the event. The temperature during the Easter egg hunt tomorrow is predicted to below 40 degrees with wind gusts of 30 mph and sustained winds of near 20 mph. These conditions will make a windchill temperature of below 32 degrees.”
The announcement also addressed flooding at the park, noting that there are several areas of the playground flooded with more rain in the forecast.
The Kosciusko County Easter egg hunt held at the fairgrounds is still scheduled for Saturday, April 20, but has been moved inside the barns. There will be 28,000 eggs this year with one chance per age group for a prize. Please bring your own baskets. The age group and locations are as follows: 1 p.m. —1-2-year-olds; 1:10 p.m. — 3-5-year-olds; 1:20 p.m. — 6-9-year-olds; and 1:30 p.m. —10-12-year-olds.
