Grace Finishes Season Sixth At Crossroads
CARMEL – Grace’s women’s golf team wrapped up its 2018-19 season on Tuesday with the final round of the Crossroads League Championship.
The Lady Lancers placed sixth overall as a team at Prairie View Golf Club after producing a team total of 345 in the third and final round.
Sydney Abbott was a model of consistency in the championships. She carded a score of 80 in all three rounds to placed 10th on the individual leaderboard.
Abbott’s tournament total of 240 was the second-best championship total in program history, just one stroke behind Lauren Keiser’s mark of 239 in 2017.
Anna Marshall was nearly as consistent with a scorecard of 84-81-82. Keiser (253), Rachel Harvey (264) and Kara Godsey (279) rounded out Grace’s scoring in the tournament.
Tuesday’s round officially ended the career of Keiser, who played an integral part in the growth of Grace’s women’s golf team. Keiser was the first signing that head coach Denny Duncan made for the program. She qualified as an individual for NCCAA Nationals as a freshman during Grace’s inaugural season, and she helped the Lady Lancers qualify for NCCAAs as a team for the first time this fall during her senior season.
