Local Residents Can Honor An Educator Through Nomination Program
WARSAW — The Warsaw Education Foundation is offering a program designed to provide a way for residents to honor an educator in the Warsaw Community Schools community.
Special Honor an Educator tribute packages are available now through May 3. This special gift for an educator provides nominators the opportunity to show appreciation for the honorees’ work in the classroom, on the field or court, and at after school activities. Honor an Educator packages will be delivered to recipients in the days before the school year ends on May 24.
With a contribution to the Warsaw Education Foundation in honor of any Warsaw Community Schools’ educator, the Foundation will send an “Honored Educator” pennant and engraved pin for workplace display and a personal note to the honoree.
Educators can include teachers, bus drivers, secretaries, custodians, principals, cooks, school nurses, or volunteers within Warsaw Community Schools. Members of the community are invited to thank a friend or neighbor who is an employee of Warsaw Community Schools. WCHS seniors may want to consider a tribute to an educator who has helped or encouraged them during their WCS career.
WCS staff members may want to consider a “Thank you” to a fellow staff member who has been a mentor to them or assisted them in some way. Retired teachers and staff may wish to offer words of encouragement to their former coworkers.
Donations will be used to help fund the Red Apple Grant awards which are monetary grants presented twice each year to Warsaw educators for projects that advance enrichment opportunities, provide innovative and inventive teaching, and promote academic exploration in Warsaw Community Schools. The Warsaw Education Foundation also relies on gifts to help fund the N.E.W. Opportunities Workshop, Warsaw Schools’ Chess Tournaments, and WCS Summer STEM Camp scholarships. A community non-profit organization, the Warsaw Education Foundation champions academic innovation and excellence in Warsaw Community Schools.
