WCS Opens Registration For The ’19-’20 School Year
WARSAW — Registration is now open for all students for the 2019-2020 school year, according to a press release from Warsaw Community Schools.
Students returning to the district may be registered by clicking on the 2019-2020 registration link in the PowerSchool parent portal.
The registration process must be completed for each student, but the process is very simple and can be completed in under ten minutes. Parents/guardians may also indicate that their child is not returning for the 2019-2020 school year by completing the same process and just answering the first question. All returning student households will receive a letter in the mail containing their PowerSchool login. Passwords can be reset by following the process in the letter.
For new families or families requesting a first-time in-district or out-of-district transfer, this process may be initiated by sending an email to [email protected]. Parents will then receive instructions and forms to complete the process.
2019 Kindergarten Countdown Program Enrollment Now Open
United Way of Kosciusko County and Warsaw Community Schools are once again offering a 15-day summer Kindergarten Countdown program. The program is targeted toward incoming fall 2019 kindergarten students without preschool experience. Students enrolled will be introduced to kindergarten curriculum while also learning classroom, lunch and bathroom expectations.
Kindergarten Countdown will be held from Monday, June 3 to Friday, June 21, at Lakeview Middle School. Students will be provided free breakfast and lunch. Transportation will be available to students with some limitations.
Two pre-assessments are required to attend the program and will be administered at the WCS Central Office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. If you are interested in saving a spot for your child’s attendance please contact Jen Stafford at 574-371-5098 ext. 2429 or email at [email protected].
Exemption Granted For All Transfer Families
All WCS families who have received an in-district or out-of-district transfer for their student(s) for the 2018-2019 school year are automatically accepted for the 2019-2020 school year. There is no need to reapply. Student(s) will be automatically registered into the school they have been attending, with the exception of students who are being promoted to a secondary school or parents who are contacted by their current principal.
Parents/guardians will complete the normal returning student registration process for the 2019-2020 school year, which can be found in the PowerSchool parent portal. No additional forms or processes are required.
