Milford Woman Faces Additional Charges After Allegedly Attacking Police Officer
MILFORD — A Milford woman is facing additional charges after allegedly attacking a police officer with a box cutter while being transported to Kosciusko County Jail on an arrest warrant for counterfeiting.
Christina Diane Golden, 56, 602 W. Section St., Apt. 114, Milford, is being charged with battery while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 24, a Milford police officer served an arrest warrant for counterfeiting on Golden. The officer handcuffed Golden in front of her body due to a shoulder injury.
As the officer was transporting Golden to the Kosciusko County Jail, Golden allegedly became abusive toward the officer and began yelling that she was not going to jail. When the police vehicle approached the intersection of Main and Detroit streets, Golden reportedly removed a box cutter from under her shirt. The blade was extended, and Golden screamed that she would kill the officer and then began attempting to cut the officer on his right arm.
The officer was able to get the patrol vehicle stopped. At that time, Golden reportedly attacked the officer, attempting to slash him with the knife. She also bit and clawed at the officer. Eventually the officer was able to twist the handcuffs, forcing Golden to drop the knife. The officer secured Golden until backup arrived and she was then transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.
Golden was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Friday, April 26, on a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
