WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested recently following an alleged battery incident.
Richard Alonzo Howard Jr., 40, 2441 W. 250S, Lot 145, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under the age of 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on March 16, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance. When the officer arrived, he spoke with Howard, who stated he and a female got into a loud verbal argument.
The officer spoke with another male at the residence who stated he had been advised by a second male subject to come to Howard’s residence to help get kids out of the house. The male stated when he arrived at the residence, Howard and the female were hitting each other. The other male subject removed the children and took them to his own residence. While he was attempting to remove the children, the male subject stated that Howard also hit him.
The male subject who police say took the children to his residence told officers that he and the female involved in the altercation have a child together. He said when he went to the residence, a child opened the door crying. At that time, the male subject said Howard and the female were in a back bedroom.
According to the police report, the female had a seizure and was transported to the hospital. The officer spoke with a child who was at the residence, and the child allegedly stated that Howard hit the female.
Howard was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail April 26. No bond was listed.
