Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, East CR 200N, north of Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Chanda K. Allen, 48, 18B Road, Tippecanoe; and Nicholas R. Higdon, 36, Fairlane Drive, Warsaw. Allen was traveling southbound on East CR 200N when she switched lanes to enter the left turn lane. As she did so, she struck Higdon’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
9:22 a.m. Monday, May 6, East CR 200N, east of Biomet Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Cheryl D. Bradley, 61, East Levi Lee Road 123, Warsaw. Bradley was traveling east on East CR 200N when an opossum entered the roadway. As she swerved her vehicle to avoid striking the opossum, Bradley’s vehicle struck a guardrail. Damage up to $5,000.
Fulton
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
6:30 a.m. Sunday, May 5, Old US 31, north of Olson Road. A car/deer accident was reported.
12:44 a.m. Sunday, May 5, SR 14 and Meridian Road, Rochester. Police were called to investigate a car/deer accident.
6:41 p.m. Saturday, May 4, US 31 and CR 550N, Rochester. A semi-tractor driver reported a deer struck his semitrailer.
8:15 p.m. Friday, May 3, SR 11 and SR 25, Rochester. Police were called to investigate a one-vehicle accident involving a juvenile driver. One person was not injured, with another individual suffering head injury.
4:02 p.m. Friday, May 3, 5700 block North Old US 31, Rochester. Drivers: Joan Haag, 80, Rochester and Katherine L. Hermanson, 63, Culver. One driver backed her vehicle into the other driver’s vehicle.
Elkhart
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
5:32 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, CR 142 and CR 17, New Paris. Drivers: Kailee Miller, 17, Elkhart and Glenn Burkett, 53, Pierceton. Burkett suffered head trauma and possible internal injuries. Miller failed to yield the right of way and turned left in front of the Burkett vehicle. Burkett was flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Miller was treated and released by medics and was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
