TROJAN TRIO EARN ALL-HNAC
For their efforts in the two-day Hoosier North Athletic Conference Girls Tennis Championships, Triton had a pair of courts earn titles.
Ivy Powell won the three singles court with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Knox and the one doubles team of Lexia Hostrawser and Emma Hepler rallied back from a 6-3 first set loss to go 6-4, 6-0 against North Judson to win that bracket title. Both courts earned All-HNAC honors for their work.
The two doubles team of Haley Hooley and Madison Davis won their consolation final against LaVille 10-2, Maddie Ritchison lost in the two singles championship to North Judson 6-0, 6-1 and Molly McFarland also lost to North Judson, a 10-8 score in the consolation matchup at one singles.
Triton will wait to find out its next match at the Bremen Sectional next week.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 4, SOUTHWOOD 1
Valley earned its third Three Rivers Conference dual win Friday at Southwood.
The duo of Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley continued to roll, moving to 14-1 on the season with a 6-1, 6-0 pasting of Ariel Benner and Shila Judy at one doubles. Kaitlin Neese and Haley Baker reached double digit wins as they earned their 10th win in a forfeit.
Hannah Parson won via shutout in the two singles court and Gigi Engstrand was nearly as flawless in a love and one win at three singles. Mackenzie Costello fell in the one singles contest to Allison Steele.
Valley (8-7, 3-4 TRC) will have the weekend off before hosting Northfield Monday in its final regular season matchup.
