Pedestrian Injured In Hit-And-Run Accident On Anchorage Road Monday Night
WARSAW — A pedestrian walking along Anchorage Road with another person late Monday night was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle that then left the scene.
The accident happened at about 11 p.m. Monday, May 13, along Anchorage Road near Kimal Drive, according to a report from the Warsaw Police Department.
Carolyn Flores, 60, Anchorage Road, Warsaw, suffered multiple lacerations, broken bones and internal injuries. She was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Flores was pushing a shopping cart and walking with another person when the accident occurred, according to the report. A witness stated she was walking beside Flores and that Flores was walking to her left, closer to the roadway, pushing a shopping cart. The witness advised that she heard a bang and saw the shopping cart land further ahead and saw Flores land on the ground. She observed a dark-colored, small passenger car continue eastbound.
Police dispatch then received a call from Sheree Sisk, 32, Pike Shore Drive, Warsaw, who said she believed she had struck a mailbox or something but continued on to Zimmer Biomet where she works. Sisk was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood draw and then transported to the Warsaw Police Department where she was interviewed by police.
