Stetzel Fires Gem In Season Finale
NORTH MANCHESTER – Kindra Stetzel threw a gem Saturday for Manchester, tossing a three-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over visiting Warsaw.
Stetzel gave up a single and double to Katie Anderson and a single to Courtney Chookie, and sprinkled in with five walks, Stetzel worked all seven innings for the shutout.
Manchester only scored in one inning, but the fourth became the key.
A walk to Emma Evans and double by Stetzel put two runners in scoring position for Mackenzie Day, who doubled both home for a 2-0 lead. An RBI double from Avery Howard and RBI single from Andrea Kahn ran the score up to 4-0, which became more than enough to polish off the Tigers.
Hudson Bolinger was serviceable for Warsaw, giving up seven hits in 4.2 innings, walking two and fanning three. Chookie game up a hit in 1.1 innings of relief.
Warsaw ends the regular season 7-19 and will prep for Monday’s matchup in the Warsaw Sectional against Elkhart Central.
