Syracuse Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man was arrested for domestic battery after police say he injured a female. Police say a minor under the age of 16 was also injured when the minor tried to stop the fight.
Kyle Lee Newcomer, 44, 6310 E. Trusdell Ave., Syracuse, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and two counts of domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On May 12, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic battery complaint. Upon arrival, a female told the officer that she and Newcomer were in an argument. According to the female victim, Newcomer pushed her down, causing injuries to her left forearm, rib cage, right triceps and her hand.
The female told the officer that she called for help from a minor under the age of 16. The minor tried to stop the fight and Newcomer pushed the minor into a cabinet, causing injury to the minor’s right bicep and hand.
The officer spoke with Newcomer who advised that the female was taking clothes off a hanger when she fell down and called for the help of the minor.
Newcomer was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on May 13, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond. He has since been released and has an initial hearing scheduled for June 13.
