Syracuse Man Arrested For Rape
KOSCIUSKO — A Syracuse man was recently arrested for rape after police say he had sex with a female who said no multiple times.
Daryle Lee Smith, 49, 506 S. Manor Drive, Syracuse, was booked for rape, a level 3 felony.
On March 30, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a rape that allegedly occurred at Deluxe Inn, Warsaw.
A female advised that on March 19, Smith and she had been with friends and they left the gathering together. According to the female, Smith drove to the Deluxe Inn, where she went into a room and laid on the bed. The female told the officer that Smith got on top of her and started removing her clothes.
According to the female, she pushed Smith away and state no several times. The female advised that Smith then held her down and raped her.
An officer with the Indiana State Police spoke with Smith. Smith admitted to the officer that he had sexual intercourse with the female after she said stop “once or twice.”
Smith was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on May 30, with a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
