Warsaw Parks Department To Host Free Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby
WARSAW — On Saturday, June 1, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will be kicking off the summer season with their free annual Kids Fishing Derby and Casting Contest.
For this event, the ages range from 3-16. Each age will be split up into categories (4 and under, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16).
In addition to the goodie bags for the first 30 kids, there will be some fantastic prizes for the 1st and 2nd place winners in each age range, along with great prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher in the casting contest. However, the grandest prize will be given to the individual who reels in the largest fish of the day.
Furthermore, this event is catch and release only, and participants must bring their own pole and bait, neither will be provided. So don’t be shy, come out and support your local parks and recreation department. Kick off your summer in fashion while fishing and having a great time socializing and laughing with your family and friends from 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1.
