Warsaw Man Allegedly Pushes Female After Confrontation About Marijuana
WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing charges for allegedly pushing a female into a wall after being confronted about a potential marijuana purchase.
Jorge Luis Perez, Jr., 29, 214 N. Fort Wayne Ave., Apt. A, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under the age of 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 18, officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic battery incident. Upon speaking with the female victim, the officers were informed that the female overheard Perez Jr. talking to another male in regards to purchasing marijuana.
The female reportedly confronted Perez Jr. about him wanting to purchase marijuana.
At that time, according to the female, Perez Jr. became enraged and pushed her into a wall, causing her to fall to the ground and injure her right elbow and forearm. Police observed and photographed redness on the female’s right elbow and forearm.
Three minor children were allegedly present in the room when the incident occurred.
Police spoke with Perez Jr., who stated he was not going to purchase marijuana. He said he pushed the female because she was blocking the doorway.
Perez Jr. was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail May 18 on a $1,000 cash bond.
