Eugene Cloud
Eugene Cloud, 88, Wabash, died at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Wabash, to Edward Cloud and Margaret (Brauneller) Whistler.
He was a 1948 graduate of LaFontaine High School and a US Marine Corps veteran. He married Shirley H. Hohl in LaFontaine on March 23, 1952. He retired from Ford Meter Box in Wabash after 39 years. He was a member of the Wabash Church of the Nazarene, the Wabash American Legion Post 15, and the Izaak Walton League. He was a woodworker and he made and sold bird houses at the Wabash Farmers Market. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed reading, collecting coins and stamps, antique clocks, and Wabash memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley H. Cloud; a daughter: Taryll “Tary” (Clinton “Kip”) Wasson, both of Wabash; a grandson: Travis (Sarah) Wasson; and two great-grandchildren: Wyatt Wasson and Norah Wasson, all of Vicksburg, Mich.; and his brother: Carl (Lois) Cloud, Beaver Dam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-brother: Eugene Taylor.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Believe Fund at the Wabash Church of the Nazarene.
