Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
9:41 p.m. Sunday, June 16, West SR 25, east of South CR 700W, Mentone. Driver: Novelene E. Witham, 61, Broadway Street, Mentone. Witham’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
7:08 p.m. Sunday, June 16, West CR 700S, east of South CR 425W, Claypool. Driver: Cory W. Rogers, 31, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Rogers stated he swerved to avoid striking a cat that was in the road. He then lost control of his vehicle and struck a fence before entering a field. damage up to $10,000.
2:36 p.m. Friday, June 14, East US 30, Pierceton. Drivers: Sabrina D. Smarr, 48, EMS B33 Lane, Warsaw; and Michael J. Elliott, 56, Main Street, Claypool. Smarr’s vehicle was traveling north of Van Ness Road approaching US 30. Smarr stated she thought Elliott’s vehicle was going to turn south on Van Ness Road so she began to pull out onto US 30. Smarr’s vehicle struck the back of Elliott’s vehicle, causing Elliott’s vehicle to spin into the median. Damage up to $10,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:26 p.m. Friday, June 14, East CR 1150N, south of Old Road 15, Milford. Drivers: Anthony W. Click, 49, East CR 1150N, Milford; and James W. Fulwider, 80, East CR 700N, Leesburg. Click stated he was going east on Waubee Road and stoped at the stop sign. He said he looked both ways and did not see Fulwider’s vehicle due to the sun being in his eyes. Click then proceeded to cross the intersection. At that time, Fulwider’s vehicle struck Click’s vehicle. A passenger in Fulwider’s vehicle, Patricia Fulwider, 79, East CR 700N, Leesburg, complained of chest pain and was checked out by medics and released at the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:55 pm. Sunday, June 16, Lake View Road, Syracuse. A female reported that her vehicle was parked and unoccupied at Oakwood Inn in Syracuse. When she returned to her vehicle, she observed damage to it. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:45 p.m. Saturday, June 15, US 30 and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Adam R. Smith, 31, 9B Road, Plymouth; and Jessica R. Thornton, 38, Mayne Street, Huntington. Smith’s vehicle rear-ended Thornton’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
8:34 a.m. Saturday, June 15, East Center Street and Cleveland Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Richard C. Hepler, 85, SR 19, Etna Green; Joshua A. Grannell, 36, East Ridge Place, Warsaw; and Daniela M. Conley, 37, Lee Lane, Harlan. Hepler stated he was traveling east on Center Street and attempting to make a left turn. Hepler said he had a green light. Hepler advised that as he was turning, his wife told him to stop. Hepler then accelerated in order to get out of the intersection but could not do so in time to avoid a collision with Grannell’s vehicle. Grannell stated he had a green light and that as he was approaching the intersection, Hepler’s vehicle turned in front of him. Conley was stopped at the light facing south. Her vehicle was struck when Hepler’s vehicle spun after the crash. Conley complained of knee pain and was treated and released by medics at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
7:16 a.m. Saturday, June 15, Old Colony Road, Warsaw. Driver: Johanna Pinedo Morillo, 47, Pine Mills Road, Warsaw. Morillo stated she just got off work and was tired. She believes she may have fallen asleep prior to the crash due to being up all night. Morillo’s vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Morillo was transported to Parkview Warsaw for treatment of chest and facial injuries. Damage up to $10,000.
4:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, West CR 300N, Warsaw. The owner of a vehicle told police her vehicle was parked and unoccupied in the parking lot in front of PetSmart. When she returned to her vehicle she saw damage on the front left bumper. Damage up to $1,000.
