According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 13, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in reference to a domestic dispute.
When the officer arrived, he spoke with the female victim, who stated she and Prestin were arguing about him driving while intoxicated. The female stated she hid the car keys from Prestin, who became angry and used his hand to strike her on the left side of her face.
The officer also spoke with a witness, who stated she observed Prestin strike the victim. Two minors were also present in the house at the time the alleged battery occurred.
The victim was examined by a doctor, who determined she had an internal injury inside her left eardrum.
On May 14, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department met with the victim, who said Prestin called her at work and threatened to get her fired for calling the police. She advised that Prestin stated he was on his way to her job location to take care of it and that he was going to ruin her career. Prestin then allegedly called back again and spoke with a fellow employee of the female victim and asked to talk to the victim. When told she was not available, Prestin stated he was on his way to the business. Employees locked the doors and called police.
Prestin was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail June 17 on a $4,500 surety and cash bond.
