‘Batman’ Visits Beacon Children’s Hospital To Wash Windows
SOUTH BEND — Being in the hospital for an extended period of time can be tough on anyone.
But it can be especially tough for kids. That’s why one man is going beyond his job as a window washer and dressing as Batman for the kids.
The Pediatrics Unit of Beacon Children’s Hospital has the caped crusader washing windows and waving to kids in their hospital rooms. Seeing a hero cleaning their windows brought smiles to their faces.
The man in the costume says this is an opportunity he couldn’t turn down.
“Batman’s got all kinds of different jobs. Not just cleaning the streets up or windows. It’s about making these beautiful kids smile inside,” said Nathan Butler, Batman.
The idea to dress up as Batman came from his boss, but once Butler heard the idea he was excited to be a hero for the kids.
