Warsaw Female To Serve Two Year Sentence Through Community Corrections
KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw woman will be allowed to serve a two year sentence through community corrections.
Jacquline Rae Egolf, 20, 1313 N. CR 525W, Warsaw, appeared in Kosciusko Superior Court 1 Thursday, June 27, for sentencing after her involvement in a 2018 break-in.
According to court documents, on Sept. 20, 2018, a female subject contacted the Warsaw Police Department regarding subjects inside her residence wearing masks. When an officer arrived at the residence, he observed two masked individuals inside. One subject, identified as James Allen Bradley Jr., fled out the back door but was apprehended by the officer.
Officers found brass knuckles, a cellular phone and a watch on Bradley’s person. The items were identified as having been taken from the residence.
Officers used a K9 unit to track the second person, identified as Nathan Scott Dimmock. The officers found a backpack outside the residence that contained stolen items from inside the residence.
Bradley allegedly admitted that he, Dimmock and Egolf planned on burglarizing the residence. Dimmock and Bradley entered the residence by breaking a window and kicking the garage door open. Once inside the residence, Dimmock and Bradley stole items. Both ran from the residence when Egolf called them and said police were arriving at the residence.
In court today, Egolf’s lawyer presented a letter of recommendation from Celebrate Recovery, a program Egolf is participating in.
“I would acknowledge that this appears to be her first crime and she has been cooperative since the beginning,” Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Brad Voelz told Judge David Cates.
Judge Cates found Egolf guilty of burglary (aiding), a level 5 felony, and sentenced her to two years at the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Cates said Egolf could serve the sentence through Kosciusko County Community Corrections. He also ordered Egolf to successfully complete the Celebrate Recovery program and to pay $303.50 in restitution to the victim.
A second charge was dismissed, pursuant to the plea agreement.
