Wawasee’s Super Mileage Squad Part Of Final Nine Teams
SYRACUSE — A team of high schoolers from Wawasee High School have made an extraordinary journey to compete in a world competition against primarily college students in London.
According to a report from a parent of one of Wawasee’s 14-member super mileage car team, Wawasee’s team survived competition in California against teams from North and South America to qualify for world competition going on Friday, July 5, in London. The parent reported that at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, the competition was going to be streamed live on Instagram.
The world contest began with 140 teams from 40 countries and has been whittled down to only nine teams, including the group of high schoolers from Wawasee. The rest of the field, according to the parent, was from colleges and universities from throughout Europe.
