Second Candidate Files For Etna Township Trustee; Announcement Will Be Made Thursday
ETNA GREEN — A second candidate has filed to run for the Etna Township Trustee’s vacancy.
Rita Anglin, 2757 N. CR 875W, Etna Green, filed Monday morning, July 8, just ahead of the 2 p.m. deadline, according to Mike Ragan, Kosciusko County Republican Chairman.
The vacancy opened up after the resignation of the trustee, Gary Sponseller, a Republican who has served in that position for 16 years.
Anglin said she was encouraged to run by several people, including her husband, Tom Anglin, who served as a county councilman for many years before stepping down in December.
She said she did accounting for a business years ago and worked in the county auditor’s office in the 1980s.
“I know the community well. I know the people. I love it here. I’ve lived here since the 70s. I just want to do what I can to help,” Anglin said.
An announcement by Ragan is expected at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 11, at the county clerk’s office.
