Warsaw Man Arrested For Residential Entry, Domestic Battery
WARSAW — A local man was arrested after allegedly battering two people while in the presence of a child.
Timothy Jacob McClurg, 29, 3699 N. CR 175E, Warsaw; also showing an address of 5430 Old Maumee Road, No. 80, Fort Wayne; is being charged with residential entry, domestic battery with a child under 16 present, and domestic battery with a prior conviction, all level 6 felonies; and domestic battery and battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On May 24, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department went to a residence regarding a battery. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer spoke with a woman who said she and McClurg had scheduled a custody exchange for a child. When McClurg arrived at the woman’s residence, she met him at the door and said she would get the child.
According to court documents, McClurg would not allow the woman to close the door to get the child. He then forcefully pushed open the door, entered the residence and began pushing the woman. The woman told the officer that a man at the scene attempted to stop McClurg from battering the woman. McClurg then began hitting and pushing the man before leaving the residence and driving away.
The officer saw scratches on the woman’s forearm and redness on her chest and ear. The officer also saw redness and bruising to the man’s face, redness on his neck and scratches on his forearms. A child was present at the residence during the incident.
McClurg was previously convicted of domestic battery in Kosciusko County on Oct. 2, 2014. He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 10, with a $3,750 surety and cash bond.
