MENTONE — A caucus has been announced in Mentone to fill the vacancy left by the death of Franklin Township Advisory Board Member Buni R. Leininger July 7.

Michael L. Ragan, chairman of the Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee announced the caucus and said the event will be held in the Mentone Town Hall at 6 p.m. on Aug. 6.

Eligible members of the caucus are any Republican Precinct Committeemen of Franklin Township, who have served continuously, from 30 days before the date of the of the caucus.

Members of the caucus, candidates, candidates families, designated caucus staff, Republican party officials, duly appointed watchers, and members of the news media are eligible to attend the caucus.

A Franklin Township, Advisory Board member will be elected by secret ballot of the majority of members of the voting caucus to fill the vacancy in the office.
