Warsaw Man Charged With Attempted Rape

KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly attempting rape.
Abel Salas Gonzalez, a.k.a. Abel Salas, 20, 742 S. Warbler Lane, Warsaw, is being charged with attempted rape, a level 3 felony.
On June 22, a person went to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and reported that he had been attacked by Gonzalez at his residence.
According to court documents, Gonzalez entered the person’s bedroom, grabbed his legs, attempted to force his legs up in the air and said, “I want a**.” The person said during the attack, Gonzalez said he was going to rape him.
The victim said he was able to get away. He then left the residence and went to the sheriff’s office.
On June 23, an officer spoke with Gonzalez about the incident. Gonzalez admitted that he went into a room and grabbed the person’s legs. When he was asked what his intentions were by going into the person’s room, Gonzalez said his intent was to rape him.
Gonzalez was initially booked in the Kosciusko County Jail for battery.
