WARSAW — A local man and woman were arrested after officers found drugs and items in a vehicle commonly used for dealing drugs.

High St., Atwood; is charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of a syringe, all level 6 felonies; and driving while suspended, a class A misdemeanor.
Angel Michelle Roberts, 19, 1692 E. CR 200N 164A, Warsaw, is being charged with aiding, inducing, or causing – dealing in methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; and possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a syringe, both level 6 felonies.
On May 10, an officer with Warsaw Police was involved in a traffic stop at a Freedom Express gas station. During the traffic stop, the officer saw a man standing by a vehicle who appeared to be in medical distress. The officer asked the man if he was okay and he said he was. The officer then saw the man laying down in the backseat of the vehicle, with a woman, identified as Roberts, seated in the front seat. Still appearing in medical distress, the officer again asked the man if he was okay and he said he was.
According to court documents, Kosciusko County dispatch then informed the officer the man at Freedom Express needed medical assistance. The officer found the man, who was leaning against a vehicle. The man said he thought he was having a heart attack and had been in the hospital earlier that day. Medics arrived and took the man to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
The officer checked the registration on the vehicle that the man had been in and found the plate number had been altered. Since the vehicle had been abandoned at the gas pumps, the officer towed the vehicle and searched it. While searching the vehicle, the officer found a purse containing a syringe that tested positive for methamphetamine. The officer asked Roberts if there were drugs in the vehicle and she began to cry, saying she had recently been arrested for possession of methamphetamine and couldn’t get in more trouble.
While attempting to check Roberts’ arms for track marks, Roberts resisted and was arrested for disorderly conduct. Officers took possession of her phone for evidence.
In the vehicle’s trunk, policer found a backpack containing paperwork addressed to Miller, a plastic bag containing two grams of methamphetamine, five syringes, a large amount of tiny bags, two glass pipes with residue, a pouch containing two white pills identified as a schedule II narcotic drug, and a digital scale.
Officers viewed video from Freedom Express and identified Miller as the driver of the vehicle. The video shows Roberts, Miller and the man who was taken by an ambulance arriving in the vehicle. While inside the gas station, Miller and Roberts noticed the officer. Miller then walked out of the gas station while watching the officer and then fled around the side of the business.
The officer obtained a search warrant for Roberts’ phone and found evidence in conversations that Roberts was lining up drug sales and drug distribution and was involved with aiding Miller in dealing illegal drugs.
A warrant for Roberts’ arrest was served on July 9. Miller was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 31.
