WARSAW — A jury trial began Tuesday, Aug. 6, in Kosciusko County Circuit Court for a Warsaw man who faces a rape charge, which is a level 3 felony.
Alexander Glen Hurley, 18, 2115 E. Hendricks St., Warsaw, was arrested in January after a minor said she had been raped by Hurley in February 2018 at Hurley’s residence.
According to court documents, the victim said she and Hurley had been friends at the time. She told officers that she and Hurley went to Hurley’s residence to “kill some time” when Hurley began inappropriately touching her. She said she told him no and pushed his arms away.
She said Hurley removed her jeans as she was telling him no and began having sex with her. She told him to stop at least six times but he continued.
Officers spoke with Hurley, who reportedly admitted he had sex with the woman after she told him no. According to court paperwork, Hurley admitted he did not take no for an answer and told the officer he is a sex addict.
Jury selection began this morning and lasted for about two hours. Six women and six men were selected as jurors. One alternative was also selected.
The trial will continue this afternoon and is scheduled to last two days.
