Warriors Pull Off Three Wins
SYRACUSE – While not playing directly at its home course, the Wawasee girls golf team played on familiar ground Wednesday afternoon. Shooting a 186, the Lady Warriors clipped three opponents en route to a solid night of golf at South Shore Golf Club.
West Noble uses South Shore as its home course, but Wawasee looked most comfortable in its 186, which had three of its four scorers come in at 47 or better. Belle Brunner led the field with a 42, followed by Tate Cowan’s 44, Taylor Cripe’s 47 and Valerie Haessig’s 53. Jadison Rostochak had the fifth score at 55.
Whitko shot a 206 while Churubusco finished at 213 and West Noble had a tough round well behind at 242.
Augusta Garr led Whitko with a 48 and Megan Godfrey had a 43 for West Noble.
Wawasee moves to 5-0 on the dual season and will hope to keep its South Shore magic going when it hosts the Wawasee Invite Saturday back at the Shore.
