WAWASEE 182, FAIRFIELD 206, ELKHART CENTRAL 211
The Lady Warriors earned a pair of convincing wins over visiting Fairfield and Elkhart Central at Maxwelton Monday.
Tate Cowan led the home team with a 41,followed by Belle BRunner’s 44, and Jadison Rostochak also broke 50 with a score of 46. Valerie HAessig shot 51 to complete the Warriors’ score.
Central was paced by Brooke Watson’s 49. Julee Nunemaker shot 47 for Fairfield.
Wawasee improves to 13-3 overall.
JOHN GLENN 197, KNOX 260, TRITON 275
Triton came up short a little short of Hoosier North Athletic Conference opponent Knox and suffered a second loss to Glenn in a three-way meet at Swan Lake Monday.
Maddie Ritchison led the Trojans with a 64, although Lilly Hubert wasn’t far behind with a 69. Haley Rensberger and Haley Hooley both shot 71 for Triton.
Abby Machnic’s 43 was the low round of the day for Glenn. Knox was led by Allison Fields’ score of 60.
GRACE LANCERS AT IWU INVITE
Grace’s men’s golf team was the runner-up at the IWU Invitational on Monday.
The Lancers placed second, behind host IWU, at Meshingomesia Golf Club. Grace combined for a 312 in the opening round before finishing with a 324 over the final 18 holes.
Noah Wright was Grace’s top finisher in each round. He carded a 76-78 to place fifth on the individual leaderboard.
Blake Lawson, playing as an individual, finished ninth overall with a 78-80, and Jacob Abrahamson tied him with a 76-82.
Isaiah Brown was Grace’s third finisher (80-82), and Camden Gongwer was one stroke behind him at 81-82. Payton Kelly rounded out the Lancers’ scoring with an 80-84.
Chase Byron (87-78) and Tim Rata (90-86) also competed as individuals in the tournament.
