Update On West Center Street Paving Plans
WARSAW — Final sewer repair and milling on West Center Street is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 12 and 13.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane with a flagger during this time. The roadway should reopen for the weekend, weather permitting.
West Center Street will then be closed for preparation and paving from noon on Monday, Sept.16, through of-of-day Tuesday, September 17. During this closure, West Center Street and all cross street intersections will be closed between West Market Street and Washington Street including:
- Friend Street from Center Street to Miami Street
- Miami Street from Center Street to the east-west alley
- Pine Street from Center Street to Market Street
- Union Street from Center Street to Main Street
- Columbia Street from Market Street to Main Street
A white fabric layer designed to protect and prolong the life of the roadway will be laid on Monday. It is important that motorists avoid driving on this white fabric layer. Please abide by all road closure signs and barricades at all times to prevent permanent damage to the new roadway.
Paving is scheduled to take place Tuesday and Wednesday, weather permitting. The road will reopen after all paving work is completed.
West Center Street residents who do not have access to their homes from an alley or cross street will be able to access their homes at most times but are asked to drive 10 miles per hour and avoid any sharp turns that may tear the fabric layer. On-street resident parking is prohibited during this project.
Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes during this time. Residents in the area are also asked to use caution and plan extra time for travel to and from their homes.
