WARSAW —  At 5:12 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, emergency responders were called to the scene of an accident at 1366 South Ferguson Road in Warsaw.

A silver 2008 Ford Escape driven by Ashley D. Nelson, 35, East CR 800N, Syracuse, left the roadway and crashed into a house. The vehicle struck the south side of the residence and pushed in the south wall of a bedroom. No one was injured inside the residence. 

Nelson said she fell asleep while driving. She told police she had been up late Friday evening at an athletic event and then got up early Saturday morning for work. 

Nelson complained of hip, rib and leg pain and had a large laceration on her right leg. She was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne by Lutheran EMS. Damage up to $50,000.

The vehicle struck the south side of the residence and pushed in the south wall of a bedroom.
