WESTVIEW 3, NORTHWOOD 2
NorthWood took its first loss of the season at the hands of a talented Westview team Monday night.
Three of the matches went to three sets, with Westview winning two of those. Isaiah Hostetler topped Chase Horner, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, at 3 singles, while Bryce Harner and Treyton Martin downed Will Clark and Brady Hostetler, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, at 2 doubles.
NorthWood’s 1 doubles team of Jack Wysong and Landon Holland won their three-setter over Tim Brandenberger and Elijah Hostetler, 5-7, 7-5, 6-0, and Ben Vincent put away Justin Schwartz, 6-2, 6-1 at 2 singles.
NorthWood’s varsity slipped to 9-1.
The Panther JV also fell, 8-3.
ROCHESTER 5, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 0
Valley was shut out by Three Rivers Conference opponent Rochester Monday.
Payton Mills extended Grant McCarter to three sets at 1 singles but fell 6-1, 0-6, 6-4, while Owen Kirchenstein won his first set over Quin Stesiak at 3 singles before falling, 0-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Valley JV fell in another shutout, 5-0.
BREMEN 5, TRITON 0
Triton took a lopsided loss to sectional-rival Bremen on Monday.
The Trojans lost in straight sets everywhere. Connor Large pushed Carson Miller to 12 games in the second set at 2 singles but ultimately lost, 6-0, 7-5. John Gardner won six games versus Mark Bahr at 1 singles before falling, 6-4, 6-2 in the closest matches of the night.
Triton’s varsity slid to 6-9.
The JV Trojans also fell in a 3-0 shutout.
