NORTHWOOD GIRLS 1, ELKHART MEMORIAL 1
Olivia Craven’s goal in the 49th minute looked like it was going to hold up, but Memorial foiled the moment with a Hannah Smith goal five minutes before time Tuesday evening at Wellfield Park. Craven’s goal, unassisted, was the first of her season. Jahlea Douglas assisted on Smith’s goal.
NorthWood’s JV took home a 2-0 win over the Chargers. Eva Sloat netted a goal in each half to lead the Panthers to the junior win.
COLUMBIA CITY GIRLS 5, WAWASEE 0
Courtney Tobin had three goals and an assist to lead the Eagles to a shutout win over the host Warriors. Mary Cotter added a goal and two assists and Skye Roberts also scored in the win. Tuesday’s loss was the sixth time this season Wawasee has been shut out, the fourth time on its home turf.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN GIRLS 3, WABASH 1
Three second-half goals propelled LCA to a win over the Apaches. A scoreless first half had Wabash in control, but the Cougars used the foot of Jessi Calizo in the 45th minute to open the scoring. Tori Calizo and Keely Bauer later added goals to push LCA over as Wabash didn’t convert its goals until garbage time on a penalty try. Finley Hobbs made three saves for the win in net.
“I was extremely happy with the way the girls came out at half time and took control of the game,” stated LCA head coach Nat Raber. We did not play well the first 40 minutes. Wabash gave us a real dog fight and I’m proud of how the team rallied in the second half.”
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN BOYS 10, CULVER 2
LCA was in total command of its matchup with the Cavaliers. Parker Stewart had three goals and an assist, Oak Janjaroen added two goals and an assist, Garrett McKeever, Brayden Lane and Michael Easterling each had a goal and two assists, and Nate Reimink and Landen Bremer both scored in the win. LCA outshot Culver 19-6.
“It was good for us to score some goals and have some things we’ve been working on in training translate to a game,” said LCA head coach Dan Miller. “We still need to be more solid defensively, however, I was pleased with the amount of guys that contributed tonight.”
