Warsaw Parks Department Hosting Two New Events During Fall, Winter Months
WARSAW — The Warsaw Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting two new events during the fall and winter months — a gingerbread house workshop and a family game night event.
The gingerbread house workshop will be held from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 22, at the Center Lake Pavilion, located at 119 E. Canal Street, Warsaw. Cost for the workshop is $15 per kit. This event offers fun for the whole family. Popcorn and cocoa will be provided for attendees. Registration is required for this workshop, with a registration deadline of Nov. 15.
Families can participate in the free family game night event from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 17. The event will be held at the Pete Thorn Center on Park Avenue in Warsaw. This free event is hosted by the parks department and Warsaw Community Public Library. There will be a variety of games and stations to choose from. Cash concessions will be available.
Dates have also been set for two annual favorites — the Fall Family Fun and Light the Night events.
The Fall Family Fun event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 11, at Lucerne Park, located at 800 N. Park Ave., Warsaw. The family-friendly event is free and includes hayrides, storytellers, crafts, snacks and a campfire by the lake. “Hotel Transylvania” will be shown on a large screen at 7:30 p.m. Silver Level sponsorship by NIPSCO and Kosciusko Community Hospital. The Light the Night event will be held from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6. Celebrate the first lighting of the Central Park Holiday Light Display at Central Park, located at 225 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw. Children will receive glow necklaces while supplies last. Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride in the Twinkle Parade and arrive inside the Center Lake Pavilion where there will also be face painters, balloon artists, games and activities.
