Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
10:19 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, North CR 800W, north of West CR 300N, Atwood. Driver: Jeffrey S. Smith, 61, CR 38, Wakarusa. Smith was traveling south on CR 800W in a construction zone on a motorcycle when his vehicle struck a lip on the new pavement. Smith complained of right leg pain and medically signed off at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
5:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, North CR 300E, south of EMS D23 Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Mark Osbun, 70, North Sandpoint Drive, Cromwell; and Ciera N. England, 25, East Van Buren Street, Leesburg. England was traveling north on CR 300E when Osbun’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck her vehicle head-on. Osbun complained of left shoulder and arm pain and had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Kosciusko Community Hospital. England complained of neck pain and went to the hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
12:51 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 104 S. Walnut St., Mentone. Driver: unknown. A vehicle was parked at a Marathon gas station at a pump in neutral. The unoccupied vehicle rolled into the front yard of 104 S. Walnut St., running over a small fence, landscaping rocks and then striking the house. Damage up to $2,500.
11:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, West CR 1350N, near North CR 950W, Nappanee. Drivers: Rene L. Saylor, 50, Homer Avenue, Elkhart; and Janelle R. Kuhns, 21, 5th Road, Bremen. Saylor was traveling south on CR 950W when she struck Kuhns’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:31 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, SR 13, near CR 900E, Sidney. Driver: Christopher K. Hollopeter, 25, West Hoppus Road, Warsaw. Hollopeter was traveling north on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:26 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, North Front Street, north of East Medusa Street, Syracuse. Driver: Maria B. Gonzalez, 29, East Edgewater Drive, Syracuse. Gonzalez was traveling south on North Front Street when she fell asleep and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. This caused the parked vehicle to be pushed into a second parked, unoccupied vehicle. Both vehicles were parked on the west side of the roadway. Damage up to $25,000.
