NorthWood Trio, Kilburn Earn Academic Golf Honors
INDIANAPOLIS – Three golfers from NorthWood and one from Warsaw were named among the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association selections for Academic All-State.
NorthWood’s Makenna Gall and Delaney Davis and Warsaw’s Grayson Kilburn were named Academic All-State. NorthWood’s Kirsten Schrock was also tabbed Honorable Mention Academic All-State. To earn the honor, golfers must compete in 50 percent of the team’s matches, earn a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent), and score at least an 1100 on the SAT or 24 on the ACT.
The Academic All-State list carried 31 golfers from around the state, which included area golfers Carly Mabie of Columbia City, Ashley Brewster and Braedyn O’Dell of Northridge and Lyvia Li of Penn. The Honorable Mention All-State list had 27 names, including Hannah Dervin of Fairfield, Rosa Trippel of Mishawaka Marian and Bella Carrillo of Wabash.
The golf season is currently in the regional round of the state tournament, where NorthWood, Northridge and Warsaw all have teams active at the East Noble Regional this Saturday at Noble Hawk Golf Links.
