WARSAW — The following programs and events are taking place at the Parkview Warsaw YMCA, located at 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw. 

FALL PREVIEW OF CLASSES AND FREE DAY OCTOBER 5

Fall preview of classes — 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for ages 16 years or older (8 years or older with a parent)

Free Day — The YMCA is free all day for anyone in the community 

Come sweat at the YMCA on Saturday, Oct. 5. They will have four group exercise classes starting at 8:30 a.m. in program room 2. Kids can join in on the fun with the free Fitness Fundamentals class in program room 1 for children ages 6 – 9 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Open to everyone with a variety of classes, a plank challenge and prizes. Everyone walks away with a bottle of water, a protein bar and a good calorie burn. This is free to members and anyone in the community.

TAKE A BREAK RESPITE PROGRAM SATURDAY OCTOBER 5

From 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. for kids, 3-13 years old. Fees apply, but the maximum charge for a family is $30.

Join in for a fun night of socialization with friends. Stop by and play games, do arts and crafts, dance and sing to karaoke, eat dinner and more. It will be a fun time to hang out with friends, make new friends and have a night of fun at the Y. Parents and caregivers can enjoy an evening of respite as those attending have fun in a safe environment. Open to anyone with a disability, ages 14-40. 

SIBSHOP SATURDAY OCTOBER 5

1:30-4:30 p.m. for kids 7-13 years old. Fees apply, but the maximum charge for a family is $30.

Meant to nurture the sibling of a person who has a disability. Sibshops are pedal to the metal events where kids ages 7 – 12 will meet other sibs, have fun, laugh, talk about the good and not so good parts of having a sib with special needs, play some great games, learn something about the services their brothers and sisters receive and have some more fun. 

MOTHER’S MILK AND MORE OCTOBER 2 

5 – 6 p.m.— No reservations or fees.

Looking for a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where you can drop in to chat, learn or have questions answered about breastfeeding? Join Josie Smith, RN, IBCLC, ILCCE, lactation consultant, Parkview Whitley Hospital, for this helpful support group. The group meets on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month.

YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION IS OPEN THROUGH OCTOBER 23

The Parkview Warsaw YMCA will offer youth basketball leagues. The upcoming youth basketball league runs from Nov. 2 to Dec. 14.
