William Charles ‘Bill’ Krohn
William Charles “Bill” Krohn, 87, of Kewanna, passed away at 4:32 a.m. at his home Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1932, in Denham, to the late Charles and Clara Reichert Krohn. In 1950, Bill graduated from Winamac High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Bill married Elizabeth Kurz on Aug. 15, 1973 at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Bill was a lifelong resident and farmer in Pulaski County. He also served two terms as Harrison Township Trustee, eight years on the Pulaski County Welfare Board, and 20 years on the Pulaski County Aviation Board for Arens Field.
Bill enjoyed hunting and watching wildlife. He was a great story teller and enjoyed writing poetry. Bill was a dog lover.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Jean “Libby” Krohn, Kewanna; stepchildren: Mark (Connie) Ingram, Winamac, Diana L.(Walt) Lowry Hanselman, Plymouth, Kirk Ingram, Winamac, and James K. Ingram, Kewanna; 11 stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents: Charles & Clara Reichert Krohn; daughter-in-law: Lisa A. Ingram; son-in-law: Terry E. Lowry; sisters: Florence Klampe, Dorothy Eiler, Evelyn Leslin, Clara Mae Locke; and brother Bud Krohn, Sr.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Rev. Edward Clark officiating.
Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lake Bruce. The American Legion and VFW will conduct Military Graveside Services.
Visitation will be from 3-8 PM EDTTuesday, Oct. 8, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Fulton County Hospice or Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
