As Police Investigate Shooting, Some Warsaw Schools Limit Recess To Indoors
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools are taking precautionary action in light of an apparent overnight shooting somewhere in the Warsaw area.
Police are not providing any details but did confirm they are looking for a suspect involved in a shooting.
As a result, representatives from the school system issued an announcement late Tuesday morning, Oct. 8, saying they are taking steps to ensure student safety by limiting recess to indoors at “specific schools.”
The announcement also said parents may notice an increased police presence in all of the schools.
“School safety is the utmost concern of Warsaw Community Schools and although there is no direct link between Warsaw Community Schools and last night’s event, WCS has proactively increased safety measures,” the news release said.
