Volleyball Results: Oct. 8
WAWASEE 3, WEST NOBLE 2
The Lady Warriors rallied to win on senior night at West Noble Tuesday, 25-21, 19-25, 18-25, 25-16, 15-11.
Emma Dippon played an all-around strong game for Wawasee with 13 kills, four aces and four blocks. Madi Simmons finished with a balanced 10 kills and 13 assists, while Leslie Vazquez tallied eight kills and 17 digs. Kai Jamora set 16 assists, and Liz Kleopfer finished with 14 assists and 16 digs.
“It’s always hard to go into someone’s gym and win on senior night. We were able to overcome the emotion from West Noble and get a win. West Noble is better than a three-win team, for sure,” said Wawasee coach Jeff Phillips.
The Warriors moved to an even 15-15.
Wawasee’s JV came up short of a win Tuesday, 20-25, 25-12, 15-8.
Amber Beer notched eight kills, eight digs and two aces, Grace Campbell finished with two blocks and two aces, and Amanda Allen passed out 14 assists.
The Warriors host NorthWood on senior night on Thursday.
TRITON 3, CASTON 2
The Lady Trojans collected a Hoosier North Athletic Conference win over Caston Tuesday, 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-13.
Lexia Hostrawser pounded out 19 kills to lead the Triton attack, while Emma Hepler and Dylanie Miller passed out 17 and 10 assists, respectively. Emma Hepler served a pair of aces, and Molly McFarland and Jaela Faulkner led the Trojans’ defensive effort with respective dig tallies of 21 and 20.
Triton will play at South Central Thursday at 6 p.m.
ROCHESTER 3, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 2
Valley lost a five-set Three Rivers Conference heartbreaker at Rochester Tuesday night, 15-25, 25-22, 25-18, 22-25, 15-9.
Makenzie Woodcox piled on 23 kills to lead the Lady Viking attack, Hannah Engstrand set 39 assists, and Amy Baca finished with four blocks. Allison Bettern served up four aces, while Bree Sheetz dug up 16 balls.
Valley’s JV lost 15-25, 25-24, 15-11. Mallory Durkes notched 10 kills, and Macy Kirchenstien finished with 14 assists.
The varsity Vikings move to 20-10 overall and slip to 5-3 in the TRC.
BETHANY 8TH 2, LCA 0
Lakeland Christian’s eighth grade volleyball team was defeated by Bethany Christian, 25-20, 25-23 Tuesday.
Addisyn Daley finished with five kills for the Cougars, while Leah Forshtay and Kelsey Cox each tallied four and Amaya Hoyt recorded three. Kelsey Cox finished with seven digs.

TIPPY VALLEY 8TH B TEAM 2, NORTH MANCHESTER 0
Valley’s eighth grade volleyball teams earned a pair of wins over North Manchester Monday, the A team winning 25-14, 25-6, and the B team collecting a 25-16, 25-10 victory.
Mackaylie Costello and Ella Sandbakken served up six and five aces, respectively, and Costello finished with two kills alongside Emma Patrick for the Vikings A team, which moved to 14-7.
Valley’s B team won by scores of 25-16, 25-10, meanwhile.
Ava Smith and Jessa Schroeder recorded two kills apiece, while Sidney Nelson and Erika Henderson served up four aces, followed by Lilly Allen’s three. Nelson also finished with five digs.
LCA 7TH 2, GOSHEN 1
LCA’s seventh grade finished up its season by beating the Blue Blazers in three sets. Lanie Calizo recorded six kills, and Piper Elrod finished with five for LCA. Caroline Alderfer and Anna Silveus served up four aces each.
CENTRAL NOBLE 6TH 2, WAWASEE 1
WAWASEE 6TH B TEAM 2, CENTRAL NOBLE 1
Wawasee’s sixth grade team fell 17-25, 25-19, 15-11 in the A game but won the B game 13-25, 25-20, 15-10.
