Warsaw Man Arrested After Damaging Vehicle, Household Items
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly damaging a vehicle and household items while intoxicated.
Dominique Demond Richardson, 28, 620 N. Zimmer Road, Warsaw, is charged with criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
On Sept. 30, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department went to a residence in regards to suspicious activity. A man, later identified as Richardson, was found laying in the middle of the road and said he had been jumped by four men.
According to court documents, Richardson was hard to understand when the officer spoke with him. The officer then asked dispatch to bring an ambulance to the residence.
Other officers arrived at the scene to search the residence and saw a damaged television, broken coffee tables and a broken entertainment center. A vehicle Richardson said he was sitting in when he was attacked had damage to its windshield and both drivers’ side windows. After leaving the residence, officers saw Richardson yelling at officers and medics at the scene. Richardson was then taken to a hospital to be checked by a doctor.
A woman came to the residence and said she was certain Richardson had not been jumped and had done all the damage to the vehicle and items in the residence because he was mad at her.
A neighbor said he saw Richardson hit a car with a sledgehammer but did not see anyone attack Richardson. A nurse at the hospital Richardson was taken to said there was no evidence a physical altercation had occurred.
Richardson took a portable breath test and registered .202%.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 1, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
