NLC Sets Up, Throws Down Volleyball Stars
GOSHEN – The Northern Lakes Conference announced Tuesday morning its choices for the All-NLC volleyball team for the 2019 season.
NorthWood completed its first outright NLC championship since 2002 with a 7-0 run through the round robin. Coach Hilary Laidig was named Coach of the Year by her peers, and had four played named All-NLC in Kendal Miller, Caroline Mullet, Kate Rulli and Maddy Payne. Alea Minnich was tabbed as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Memorial finished 6-1 and had Emily Anderson, Maddie Boomershine, Jackie Fernandez and Olivia Gonsoski named All-NLC.
Warsaw was 5-2 to take third and had Avery Hales, Kylie Smith and Kennedy Lauck named All-NLC and Kaylee Weeks as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Wawasee was 1-6 for sixth place and had Madi Simmons named Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Plymouth (4-3), Goshen (3-4), Northridge (2-5) and Concord (0-7) completed the table.
Wrapping up All-NLC choices are Brynn Shoup-Hill of Goshen, Molly Brown of Northridge and Avery Christy of Plymouth.
Honorable Mention choices are Sophia Trout of Concord, Kathryn Detweiler of Goshen, Makenna Knepp of Northridge, and Plymouth’s duo of Alaina Clady and Kenzie Snyder.
