Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Strangling, Battering Woman
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly strangling a woman and kicking her in the chest.
Michael R. Moore, 19, 1913 Robin Drive, Warsaw, is charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Oct. 15, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of domestic battery. The officer went to the scene and found a man, later identified as Moore, laying in a ditch with a baseball bat. According to court documents, Moore was showing strange behavior and was eating grass.
A woman said she and Moore were in a backyard when a verbal argument occurred. Moore allegedly became agitated and kicked the woman in the chest several times. The woman then left the backyard and went into a residence to speak with another woman.
The two women went back outside in an attemp to calm Moore down when Moore grabbed one of the women by the neck and lifted her off the ground. Moore then used a baseball bat to strike the woman’s car, putting a dent in the vehicle and a crack in the taillight.
Moore has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in Kosciusko Superior Two Court.
