What’s At Stake In Tuesday’s Municipal Elections? Here’s A Rundown
WARSAW — A handful of towns will host elections on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and here’s a look at a rundown of contests:
In Warsaw, four city council seats are up for grabs.
Those include the following contests: In District 1, incumbent Republican Jeff Grose will face Democrat Sarah McNeal Strahan-Lenfestey; In District 2, Republican Josh Finch faces Independent Chris Plack; In District 3, Republican incumbent Michael Klondaris faces Democrat Roxanne Coffelt. In District 5, Republican incumbent Diane Quance faces Democrat Jack Brunetto.
Republican Mayor Joe Thallemer and Republican Clerk-Treasurer Lynne Christiansen are unopposed in their re-election bids. Incumbent Republican city council members who are unopposed include Cindy Dobbins, Jack Wilhite and Jerry Frush.
Towns with races include:
Claypool — The town has two races. Democrat Charlotte Lindley and Libertarian Patricia Warner are on the ballot for clerk-treasurer. Republican Benny Stage, Jr. will face Democrat Niki Miller for the north district council seat. Other candidates on the ballot include Democrat Elizabeth Heiman and Republican Eugene Warner. They are unopposed and poised to take office and represent the center and southern districts, respectively.
Etna Green — Republican Patricia Cook and Democrat Mandy Ewing are on the ballot for clerk-treasurer. Republicans Keith Claassen, Jason Hanes and Susan Klinefelter are unopposed and poised to take office on town council.
Leesburg — Republican Greg Anderson and Democrat Michael Searfoss are on the ballot for clerk-treasurer. Incumbent Republicans Christina Archer, Doug Jones and Tom Moore are unopposed and poised to win re-election.
Pierceton — Republican Myra Mast and Libertarian Brian Harman are on the ballot for clerk-treasurer. Incumbent Republicans Tom Barker and Matt Brubaker and Democrat Mandy Espinoza are poised to win re-election.
Syracuse — Incumbent Republican Paula Kehr-Wicker and Democrat Tim Yeager are on the ballot for clerk-treasuer. Incumbent Republicans Tom Hoover and Larry Martindale and Bill Musser are unopposed and poised to win re-election.
Towns not having elections:
Mentone — The town had a convention this summer. There are no contested races and no election Tuesday. Unopposed and poised to take office are Republican Clerk-Treasurer Nicki Norris as well as Republican Shelly Krueger and Jill Goss and Democrat Democrat Timothy Croy for the town council.
North Webster — The town has no contested races and will not have an election. Republicans Dan Thystrup, Lisa Strombeck and David Waliczek are poised to win seats on the town council and Alice Betsy Luce is poised to win re-election as clerk-treasurer.
Silver Lake — The town had a convention this summer. There are no contested races and no election Tuesday. Those poised to take office are Republican Tonyas Conley as clerk-treasurer and Republican town council candidates Hugh Murfin, Nicole Taylor and Chad Miner.
Winona Lake — There was no opposition on the ballot. Candidates poised to take office are Republican Clerk-Treasurer Kent Adams and Republicans Jim Zachary, Denny Duncan and Heather Jones on the town council.
