KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Contrary to popular misconception, veterans organizations are not just for veterans.

Kosciusko County American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts regularly offer food, fun and fellowship to the public.

Each post offers a limited number open house and excise exempt days, dictated by state law, when nonmembers can order alcohol if they are signed in by a member.

American Legion Post 49, 301 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw

• Open to the public 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday with menu dining.

• Breakfast menu 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday.

• $5 lunch specials 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Fish dinners 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. $5 two-piece, $6 four-piece.

• Dinner specials 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

• Bingo 7 p.m. Monday and Friday, noon first Sunday of each month.
