Solid Waste Board Will Seek Bids For Fencing Project
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Solid Waste Board approved a request by Director Tom Ganser to pursue quotes for fencing at the KC Recycling Depot on Union Street in Warsaw at its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The fencing would serve as a deterrent against unauthorized dumping of items at the Warsaw site, specifically dumping that occurs on evenings and weekends.
Unauthorized dumping of solid waste is a prosecutable offense in Kosciusko County.
Ganser proposed using some of the remaining $4,000 of the Depot’s improvement fund to purchase fencing and two gates around the west lot. He estimated the cost of fencing would be under $2,500. The proposed fence would be 100 feet long with two gates for entry and exit from the lot.
The gates would remain open during the day but closed on evenings and weekends.
The board will assess quotes for fencing at its next meeting, Dec. 10.
